“Rasa” is originally a Sanskrit word that means “juice, taste, essence” or an indescribable feeling. It is also used in the Indonesian and Malay language to refer to “a feeling” or “flavour”. Most Asian home cooks will know this word as the secret ingredient to any well-made meal, Cooking with “rasa” means to cook with your instincts and a sense of “feeling” and not just follow a recipe blindly.
